Monthly review workflow

Move from Shopify source data to a reconciled, traceable Intrastat export.

Start with the source

Narrowforge Intrastat Europe separates four kinds of information:

  • Shopify source — order, fulfilment, line, destination and product fields returned by Shopify.
  • Merchant input — reporting country, location mapping, CN8, origin, net mass and other details you confirm.
  • Derived result — period, partner country, values, mass, readiness and issue severity calculated from those inputs.
  • Exported snapshot — the finalized declaration and file hash kept for the period you reviewed.

The distinction makes a review explainable. A derived status is not a new source fact, and a

finalized snapshot does not prove that an authority has accepted a filing.

A calm monthly routine

  1. Close the month in Shopify and let refunds or cancellations settle where possible.
  2. Open the period review in Narrowforge Intrastat Europe.
  3. Confirm the reporting country and the fulfilment locations included in the period.
  4. Resolve flags, starting with missing weight, destination or commodity data.
  5. Reconcile line count, value and mass against a Shopify or finance export you control.
  6. Finalize the period only after reviewing the confirmation and the displayed rule version.
  7. Download the private export, archive it by period and record the submission reference in your own workflow.

What a clean period means

A ready period has no unresolved blocking issue and has the configuration required by its

country adapter. A warning still needs a merchant decision. A finalized period is immutable so

the file and review can be reproduced; it is not an automatic submission.

What the workflow cannot answer

The app cannot decide whether your business has a legal filing obligation, replace a customs or

tax adviser, validate a classification that you have not confirmed or report that a declaration was

accepted. Confirm thresholds, deadlines and country-specific rules with the competent authority

or a qualified adviser.
