Review duplicate candidates safely
A practical workflow for deciding whether two customer records should be corrected or merged.

Duplicate detection is a review aid, not an identity decision. Similar names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses can belong to different people, and a missing field is not proof that two records are the same.
Recommended review
- Open the duplicate candidate from the scan results.
- Check the store and record identifiers shown by the app.
- Compare the masked signals and the explanation for the match.
- Read the proposed survivor and affected fields in the before-and-after preview.
- Approve only when you have an independent business reason to treat the records as the same customer.
If the evidence is ambiguous, dismiss or leave the candidate in review. Do not use the app as a substitute for customer verification or a legal basis for processing.
Merge boundary
The app requires explicit confirmation for a merge. A failed or partial operation is surfaced as an issue; it is not presented as a completed cleanup. Review the audit history after a successful action and keep the store's own customer-service record where one exists.
