NarrowForge Commission Ledger — Privacy policy

Scope and product boundary

This policy explains how NarrowForge Commission Ledger processes information when it is installed in a Shopify store. The app produces a reproducible commission ledger from order and refund data. It does not move money, run payroll, make employment decisions or provide legal, tax, accounting or financial advice.

Information processed

The app uses the minimum information needed to calculate and reconcile the ledger:

  • Shopify store, installation, order and product identifiers used to scope the ledger.
  • Order snapshots, line-item attributes, discounts, refunds and product tags needed for a configured base or filter.
  • Customer and company identifiers used only for attribution; the documented workflow does not read customer profile fields.
  • Merchant-entered sales reps, including an optional rep email, assignments, rule versions, periods, entries and reasoned adjustments.
  • Webhook receipts, queued jobs and audit events needed to operate and support the service.

Purpose and merchant responsibility

We process this information to apply the merchant's finite rules, attribute entries, calculate periods, preserve immutable versions, record adjustments and generate a reconciliation export. The merchant remains responsible for its lawful basis, commission agreements, sales-rep data and payment decisions.

Storage, providers and retention

Operational records are scoped to the authenticated Shopify store and are processed by Shopify plus the hosting and database providers needed to run NarrowForge. No data is sold or used for advertising. Ledger history is kept while the merchant needs the service and removed through the app's deletion boundary or a verified request. Shopify manages marketplace billing; NarrowForge does not store card numbers.

Deletion and rights

Uninstalling revokes app access. Shopify deletion and shop-redaction events are handled for store-scoped records, and a merchant can also use the NarrowForge data-deletion page or privacy support. Requests are verified and routed to the merchant where the merchant controls the data.

Privacy contact: support@narrowforge.com. Do not include passwords, API keys, tokens or unnecessary order exports in a request.
